(Los Angeles, CA, June 24, 2019) – Sun Air Jets was recently honored as a recipient of the 2018 Friendly Flyer Award at a ceremony held at the Van Nuys Airport. This award is presented to private jet operators who voluntarily participate in the Fly Friendly/Quiet Departure Program, designed to reduce noise in neighboring areas above and beyond existing federal regulations.
This marks the 5th consecutive year Sun Air Jets has been presented with the award by the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the governing body for Van Nuys and LAX. Additional recognition was presented from the offices of Nury Martinez, Councilwoman, LA’s Sixth District; and Tony Cardenas, Representative, 29th Congressional District.
“Sun Air Jets’ commitment to being a ‘good neighbor’ to our fellow Los Angeles area residents includes going the extra mile to fly as quietly as possible at all times, and this recognition is the result of the hard work by our pilots,” stated Capt. Don Manzke, Sun Air Jets’ Director of Operations. “Our focus on safety and quiet flying is one of the things that makes Sun Air Jets special in Los Angeles, and earning this award for 5 consecutive years demonstrates that commitment,” stated Brian Counsil, Sun Air Jets’ President and COO.
