Brian Counsil | President & Chief Executive Officer
Brian has been with Sun Air Jets since its inception and has been involved with every aspect of growing the enterprise from its early days to its current position as a world-class FBO and international jet charter company. As an aviation tax attorney and accountant, Brian not only leads Sun Air Jets as the expert in legal, tax and financial aspects of our business, but unique to our industry, also offers that expert advice to the aircraft owners in Sun Air Jets’ managed aircraft fleet. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis.
Steve Maloney | Chief Operating Officer
Steve has over 35 years of aviation experience in senior management positions. He is a retired senior Naval Officer as well as airline pilot. His business aviation experience ranges from running small consulting companies up to senior management positions in multiple locations with a major aircraft manufacturer, working in its corporate headquarters in New Jersey as well as in its maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in Arkansas. Steve is an airline transport rated pilot with over 15,000 flight hours. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Boston College.
Rob Cox | Executive Vice President & Director of Maintenance
Rob has over 23 years of aviation maintenance experience beginning in 1993 with the USAF, California Air National Guard as a C-130 Crew Chief. He has been in business aviation since 1998 and has held several high level positions both as a maintenance technician, and maintenance oversite for part 135, part 91, and part 145 operators on a variety of aircraft. Throughout his career, Rob has continued his education to stay up to date with the latest technology, safety standards, and best maintenance practices.
Ed Fares | Director of Operations
Ed has over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry. His experience ranges from being a Captain in the airline industry to holding Chief Pilot and Director of Operation positions within the business aviation industry. He is an airline transport rated pilot with over 11,000 flight hours. He has also held various training, safety, and standards positions throughout his career. Ed holds multiple type ratings on Gulfstream, Citation and Embraer aircraft. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology from Purdue University.
