Edward Fares Appointed as Director of Operations

Sun Air Jets is pleased to announce the appointment of Edward Fares as the new  Director of Operations for their expanding organization. As the director, Fares will  support the company as it further develops its sophisticated fleet and its  dedicated team.  

With over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Fares will lend his leadership skills and flight operations experience to build upon Sun Air Jets’ established reputation for quality in private aviation and management services, providing another critical ingredient in its successful growth and client satisfaction strategy.  

His experience ranges from being a Captain in the airline industry to holding various Chief Pilot and Director of Operations positions within the business aviation industry. He is an airline transport rated pilot with over 11,000 flight hours. He has also held various training, safety, and standardization positions throughout his career. 

The installation of Fares to the leadership team is the newest in a series of corporate enhancements and initiatives that will reinforce the stability of the Sun Air Jets brand as it continues to grow and flourish.

Sun Air Jets Acquires Additional Van Nuys Hangar Space

Sun Air Jets' hangar space at 16706 Roscoe Blvd, Van Nuys, CA

(Los Angeles, California – March 2021) – Sun Air Jets is excited to announce that it has extended its hangar footprint at the Van Nuys Airport (VNY). The Company has secured two brand new hangar and terminal facilities located in the northwest corner of the Airport, providing an additional 62,000 square feet of hangar space.

This addition will more than double the size of Sun Air Jets’ presence at the Van Nuys Airport and allow it to better serve clients looking for secure and private hangar and terminal space in the greater Los Angeles area. Designed to offer a superior level of luxury and sophistication, the new facility also offers private offices, lounges, conference meeting rooms, gated guest parking, and numerous other amenities necessary to meet today’s evolving business aviation needs.

The facility also meets the state’s strict environmental green build standards and will include a solar roof top system that will assist the Los Angeles World Airports’ (LAWA) environmentally sustainable energy program.

Sun Air Jets was assisted in acquiring the space by the Aeroplex Group Partners, who secured the entitlements and managed the project development, and will oversee this new location, together with Sun Air Jets’ existing hangars at Van Nuys.

Sun Air Jets Offers SAF in Southern California

SAF will be offered at the same rate as conventional jet fuel

(Greater Los Angeles Area, California – February 9, 2021) – Signature Select member FBO Sun Air Jets is pleased to announce it will be blazing new trails, offering sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at their full-service FBO in Ventura County. Sun Air Jets will be one of the first FBOs in the Signature Select network to offer SAF.

With the rising need for environmental sustainability, Sun Air Jets is excited to join the private aviation industry’s efforts to reduce its impact on the environment. As a clean substitute for conventional jet fuel, SAF is made from organic and renewable materials rather than refined from petroleum and can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 23%.

The progressive WYVERN Flight Leader Program provides operators alternative and innovative pathways to continuous improvement. After evaluation of the former logo, the Sun Air Jets leadership team determined to refresh the company’s brand to better promote its current positioning in the market. The new logo comprises a modern sun with air symbols, representing the element of travel while incorporating visual notions unique to Sun Air. IS-BAO Stage 3 is achieved when the operator verifies that safety management activities are fully integrated into the operator’s business and that a positive safety culture is being sustained.
