Sun Air Jets Camarillo FBO Certified as a Green Aviation Business by NATA

For Immediate Release:
December, 2021

Sun Air Jets is excited to announce that its Camarillo FBO (KCMA) has been certified as a Green Aviation  Business with Tier 1 status by the National Air Transportation Association (NATA). The FBO, under the leadership of James Evans, has been working with the NATA to evaluate and meet the standards for its  Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses over the past few months.

The NATA Sustainability Standard for Aviation Businesses is a new sustainability initiative, created to provide  FBOs, airports, and other aviation businesses a self-certification process for pursuing flexible, cost-effective options to lower their carbon footprint.

Developed by a working group under NATA’s Environment Committee, the NATA Sustainability Standard for  Aviation Businesses is a free industry standard designed to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (including  CO2), increase use of more environmentally friendly energy sources, reduce waste, and encourage sustainability operation-wide.

“NATA is grateful to Sun Air Jets for their input in developing the standard and leadership as an early adopter.  It is inspiring to see our members’ enthusiasm for meeting the requirements of this sustainability standard and then raising the bar even higher for greater improvement,” stated NATA President and CEO Timothy Obitts.

Director of Business Development for Sun Air Jets Mary Brehm states, “It is an honor to work closely with the  NATA Environment Committee on this project and other environmental initiatives. Sun Air Jets is committed  to further reducing the carbon footprint at their FBO and will be regularly evaluating and adjusting the  baseline energy usage with a goal to achieve Tier 2 status at their next renewal.”
