Brian Counsil, President and Chief Operating Officer
Brian has been with Sun Air Jets since its inception and has been involved with every aspect of growing the enterprise from its early days to its current position as a world-class FBO and international jet charter company. As an aviation tax attorney and accountant, Brian not only leads Sun Air Jets as the expert in legal, tax and financial aspects of our business, but unique to our industry, also offers that expert advice to the aircraft owners in Sun Air Jets’ managed aircraft fleet. Brian holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis.
Stephen E. Maloney, Executive Vice President of Finance & Business Operations
Steve has over 35 years of aviation experience in senior management positions. He is a retired senior Naval Officer as well as airline pilot. His business aviation experience ranges from running small consulting companies up to senior management positions in multiple locations with a major aircraft manufacturer, working in its corporate headquarters in New Jersey as well as in its maintenance, repair, and overhaul facility in Arkansas. Steve is an airline transport rated pilot with over 15,000 flight hours. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy and a Master’s Degree in Finance from Boston College.
Rob Cox, Executive Vice President and Director of Maintenance
Rob has over 23 years of aviation maintenance experience beginning in 1993 with the USAF, California Air National Guard as a C-130 Crew Chief. He has been in business aviation since 1998 and has held several high level positions both as a maintenance technician, and maintenance oversite for part 135, part 91, and part 145 operators on a variety of aircraft. Throughout his career, Rob has continued his education to stay up to date with the latest technology, safety standards, and best maintenance practices.
Susan Grantz, Vice President of Finance/Controller
Sue began her career in banking for Riverdale Bank and then LaSalle Bank in the Chicago area, working her way up from Accounting Clerk to Operations Officer and Retail Banking Officer over the course of more than 20 years. Upon relocating to the West Coast, Sue joined Sun Air Jets in 2001, and currently serves as the company’s Vice President of Finance/Controller. Sue is responsible for all auditing, accounting, banking, tax, financial statements and monthly aircraft management statements.
Leigh Ann Spooner-Herold, Vice President of Charter Sales
Leigh Ann’s passion for the industry began in 1995 when she received her private pilot’s license. Now, with close to 25 years in charter sales management, Leigh Ann leads her department with unparalleled global experience and access to an extensive network of brokers and operators guaranteeing the best charter solutions. With her prior expertise in brand and marketing management, her ability to anticipate client needs has allowed her to also excel in the oversight of in-flight services providing a second to none passenger experience.
Andreas Mauritzson, Vice President of Business Strategy
Andreas has over 29 years of experience as a business aviation executive and a developer of private sector business opportunities and investments. His experience includes serving as Executive Director of Aviation for a large U.S. conglomerate and as Global Director of Sales for a premier aircraft sales firm. Andreas sit on numerous boards and is an ATP rated pilot with 11,000 flight hours and several aircraft type ratings.
